Svend Brinkmann is a Danish Professor of Psychology in the Department of Communication and Psychology at Aalborg University, Denmark. He serves as a co-director of the Center for Qualitative Studies. His research is particularly concerned with philosophical, moral, and methodological issues in psychology and other human and social sciences. In recent years, Svend Brinkmann has been studying the impact of psychiatric diagnoses on individuals and society.
Forfatteren viser, hvordan hverdagslivsmateriale som bøger, tv, internettet, medierne og samtaler og samspil i hverdagen kan bidrage til vores forståelse af mere omfattende sociale spørgsmål. Bogen hjælper læseren med at udvikle en disciplineret og analytisk-teoretisk bevidsthed og viser, hvordan mindre kan være mere i kvalitativ forskning. Hvert kapitel præsenterer teoretiske værktøjer til at tænke med og viser, hvordan de kan anvendes i konkret arbejde med hverdagslivsmateriale.
Svend Brinkmann er professor i psykologi ved Institut for Kommunikation ved Aalborg Universitet.
